Late last month, the Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario presented to the Canadian Society of Association Executives at their Winter Summit, an event organized to help senior association members develop their leadership skills. A panel of RGD members, including C ( Group’s own Laura Sellors, spoke on the importance of design thinking when approaching communications projects.
Laura spoke on C ( Group’s work for the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC).
As Laura explained, PMAC set out to build their website internally using Open Source CMS technology; the association was already working with an advertising agency for graphics, but they needed help with the overall strategy of their site.
The association contracted C ( Group as a strategic partner, and we facilitated a series of design exercises to help determine the direction of the project. What resulted was a case study that demonstrated how integrating design thinking results in better business decisions.
