HELPING PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES BUILD GREAT LIVES

About this project

Community Living Hamilton‘s (CLH) Annual Report was developed with a view to raising the bar in terms of communicating the organization’s vision to help build great lives for people with developmental disabilities so that all persons live with dignity as citizens of their community, share in every element of living and have equal opportunity to participate. Distilled down to the tagline: “Helping Build Great Lives”, the report emphasizes the important difference that CLH is making in its community.

C(Group consulted with CLH and developed an approach and strategy to communicate these desired key messages. C(Group wrote the copy/content, being sure to capture the important milestones achieved over the past year and blending it with a strong and exciting vision for the future.

C(Group developed a visual design that helped support the strategic goals, featuring people, the center of all the work CLH does, who are shown participating in key programs offered by CLH and demonstrating the impact its good work has. A colourful, playful design language creates visual interest and leads the reader through the document while reinforcing a consistent brand image the entire way.

This digitally printed short-run Annual Report was also included on the organization’s website as a PDF for easy reference/download.

Ensuring qualified and competent social work

About this project

The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers’ (OCSWSSW) theme for the 2016/17 Annual Report was “The Next Chapter” since OCSWSSW had gone through a transformative period with a new strategic plan for the future. To visually convey this idea, C(Group used the turning pages of a book to express a sense of forwarding progression and advancement of the OCSWSSW story.

Ten cover concepts based on the theme for this year’s annual report were presented. Accessible PDF versions were created for online viewing, and the report was delivered in English and French versions both in print and online.

The 2016/17 Annual Report has been instrumental in promoting the strategic plan that renews OCSWSSW commitment to support the registered community of OCSWSSW and protect the general public through regulation.

SUPPORTING EMERGING SONGWRITERS

About this project

The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) selected “Powered by SOCAN” as the theme of the 2016/17 Annual Report, to exemplify how SOCAN is weaving a powerful platform able to provide best-in-class, tailor-made services to anyone in the digital music ecosystem in Canada and worldwide.

The 2016/17 Annual Report is imperative in demonstrating the impact SOCAN has had in achieving its vision to lead the global transformation of music rights. The report is successful in depicting the strategic objectives of SOCAN as well as reporting on the important advancements that have been made in 2016 to benefit SOCAN members.

The report was developed in an online and print ready, accessible PDF as well as a responsive, accessible, bilingual website featuring colorfully animated infographics bringing the report to life, supporting the “Powered by SOCAN” theme. C(Group presented five homepage concepts centered around the chosen theme.

To portray the “Powered by SOCAN” theme, C(Group created an illustration design consisting of a hand holding a lightning bolt. This concept illustrates the new power SOCAN wields in empowering SOCAN members and in advancing the SOCAN vision through their improved strategic goals and growing success in rights and royalties internationally.

Ministry of Finance

Providing key fiscal, taxation and economic policy advice

About this project

C(Group cooperates with various Ontario Ministries on a regular basis. This time we worked with the Ministry of Finance to design and produce two PDF brochures in multiple languages: Financial Technology in Ontario, and Canada and Ontario’s R&D Tax Program. The task was to create an official publication about Canada’s financial services industry programs and initiatives.

The first piece of work was a two-page summary highlighting Ontario’s business advantages in the Financial Technology sector to be made available in seven languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese). The second one was a single page profile or summary detailing Ontario’s generous R&D tax incentives which was to be made available in 8 languages (English, German, Japanese, Portuguese, French, Chinese, Korean and Spanish).

C(Group led the graphic design effort and assembled a team of partners including translators and accessibility specialists to ensure WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliant online publications. Final PDFs use descriptive narration and adaptive technology for proper dissemination of the content by screen readers as well as other accessible-friendly functions and features.
